The Air Forces’ X37B robot mini-space shuttle type spacecraft was launched last night at 7:52 p.m. atop of an United Launch Alliance (Boeing/Lockheed-Martin) Atlas V 501 medium/heavy lift rocket.
The X37B was a NASA project at one time, but when NASA decided in 2004 to go with the Ares 1 and 5 concepts that used capsules, they gave the mini-shuttle project to the Air Force.
I think the Air Force got the better end of that deal.
