Earth type planet

From Chris Achorn’s My Two Sense:

WASHINGTON (AP) – For the first time astronomers have discovered a planet outside our solar system that is potentially habitable, with Earth-like temperatures, a find researchers described Tuesday as a big step in the search for “life in the universe.”The planet is just the right size, might have water in liquid form, and in galactic terms is relatively nearby at 120 trillion miles away. But the star it closely orbits, known as a “red dwarf,” is much smaller, dimmer and cooler than our sun.

Basically, we have found a planet that might have life. We need to unite as humanity and begin to explore our universe and find the life that is out there waiting for us to find it.

Amen to that Chris. At this time more than ever, we need dreamers who aren’t afraid to dream for a better Earth. Star Trek future versus A Brave New World? You know which one I’d vote for!

  1. See. If the U.S. were developing antimatter for propulsion instead of weapons, there might be a chance of traveling 120 trillion miles to this new world but, current propulsion technology makes such a journey impossible.

  2. Antimatter propulsion is the best way, using the physics that we know of, to send interstellar probes in reasonable mission times.(20-50)years.

  3. Figure out how to surround a ship with a stable warp field, and the craft can slip into sub-space and travel faster than light.

Too bad our government and corporate America is still mired in the 19th century.

  4. Christopher: Check ^^new thread. 19th century? In attitude only.
