The Atlantropa Project, or it’s earlier name Pantropa was the brain-child of German engineer Herman Sorgel (1885-1952). The main thrust of the project was to build a dam across the Straits of Gibraltar, generate electrical power for the citizens of Europe, lower the level of the Mediterranean Sea creating new new land area to be used for farming and city building and link Europe with Africa. Also the creation of two inland seas similar to the Great Lakes in North America, Lake Congo and Lake Chad would happen because of flooding of the Congo River. Various other projects on the African Continent would take place, a new Suez Canal Project, a newer “Second Nile River” and other dam projects could solve the ever growing demands for fossil fuels. Another added benefit would be the de-desertification of the Sahara Plains, reverting it to it’s Ice Age temporate climate. Also the more fruit bearing portions of Europe would come back:
“The Canal des Deux Mers (Two Oceans Canal) comes to mind, 2 connecting Marseille and Bordeaux, the Mediterranean and the English Channel, the Panropa-Project, which wants to recover Europe’s actual fruit country, the Mediterranean Basin, by uncovering the once flooded areas with the help of the Gibraltar dam.”
That may be so, but the Mediterranean had immense salt plains during the last Ice Age:
“At the Strait of Gibraltar, deep, salty Mediterranean water flows into the Atlantic and northward as it mixes up into the salty Gulf Stream surface water. Today some of that mixture flows westward into the Labrador Sea Southwest of Greenland, and much of it also flows beyond the Faeroe Islands off Scotland and eventually into the Arctic Ocean. About 160,000 years ago, an ice age was already under way, and the seas east and west of Greenland were very cold. But the salinity of the mixture reaching Labrador made the water dense enough to sink easily when cooled in winter, and the warmer salty replacement mixture kept the seas south of Greenland relatively warm.
“Storms usually track over areas where warm and cold conditions exist side by side,” said Johnson. This temperature contrast with the Greenland ice sheet and other cold areas kept eastward-moving storms to the north. This channelled large amounts of moisture over both European and Siberian areas, causing enormous growth of the ice sheets there.”
So there’s the rub, build the dam and you may gain in surface area, but you’ll cause and Ice Age because of increasing cloud cover and salinity of the Mediterranean. According to some advocates though, this is to be expected and not a big deal:
Late in the Late in the 20th century, Robert Glenn Johnson, suspecting that the increasing salinity of the seawater exiting the Mediterranean Sea at the Strait of Gibraltar might be the near-term future cause of a new Earth ice age – the beginning of its onset predicted 30 years hence – proffered a controversial proposal to study the Macro-engineering concept of a porous barrier, a permeable rubble-mound dam, emplaced in the fluid connection between the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea (Johnson, 1997). Johnson’s artificial reef-like rubble pile seawater flow throttle was only intended to slow the outflow of highly saline water, which eventually affects the essential physical characteristics of seawater in the North Atlantic Ocean, in order to prevent ice sheet formation in northeastern Canada. His anti-ice age macroproject rests entirely on the proposition that Egypt’s Aswan High Dam (closed in 1965) has caused the measured increased salinification of exiting Mediterranean Sea water; Johnson’s rubble mound dam – really a proposal for an anthropogenic submarine ridge – becomes an expensive and worthless techno-fix if the Aswan High Dam were simply breached! If the Aswan High Dam were suddenly demolished naturally – as in Michael Heim’s terrifying novel Aswan! (1972) – or simply breached by macroengineers, release of the reservoir’s entire contents would raise temporarily the Mediterranean Sea’s level by about 6.6 cm. (A new Ice Age could cause global sea level to lower! Both the elevating and the declining global sea level will form new base level’s of continental and islandic erosion and also affect national legal systems of real property ownership.) Johnson’s neo-ice age concept of past and future climate changes is fully and carefully described in Secrets of the Ice Ages: The Role of the Mediterranean Sea in Climate Change (2002). By 2006, the scientific controversy over R.G. Johnson’s theory remained scientifically unresolved (Bryden and Webb, 1998; Skliris and Lascaratos, 2004). Both Johnson’s and Sorgel’s barriers would alter (de-tune) the Mediterranean Sea’s tides, in some instances (such as in the case of the Aegean Sea) possibly doubling the amplitudes of its semidiurnal tides. Furthermore, changes of the Mediterranean Sea’s wave climate will also occur (Lionello and Sanna, 2005), forcing prudent revision of existing ship weather-routing procedures. In addition, both barriers would probably terminate the anthropogenic atmospheric carbon dioxide gas drawdown currently performed by the Mediterranean Sea (Alvarez, 2005). It is doubtful that the Gibraltar Strait Dam could imitate China’s Great Wall as a notable impediment to gene flow (Su, 2003).
When Sorgel first proposed the Atlantropa idea, not once did he consider the Africans in the equation. He was a product of his racist times, which considered the white male the pinnacle of God’s Creation. Thus Africa was; ” turned into a territory actually useful to Europe“. I wonder what present day Africans would say about that?
In fact, present day Africans might actually have a lot of say if an Atlantropa ever gets off the grawing board. According to Richard B. Cathcart, founder of GEOGRAPHOS Consultancy and a geographer who specializes in macroengineering projects, the changing demographics of Europe might launch Atlantropa:
Currently, a demographic shift in Europe seems to presage an epoch – occurring, perhaps, sometime around 2010-2050 – that will forever alter Europe’s still distinctive culture: post-World War II Europe has been colonized by Muslims mainly from North Africa. By 2010-2050, Muslims in southern Europe (Spain, France, and Italy) may form ~25% of the total population and working Muslim adults may total ~40% of the available labor force. This means that an almost forgotten macroproject such as the Gibraltar Strait Dam and its associated infrastructure developments may find future acceptance amongst voting citizens of southern Europe and northern Africa. Forecast future climate regimes in the Mediterranean Sea Basin are likely to be the initial stimulation for a re-thinking of the old macroproject proposal (Kepner, 2005). “By……North Africa’s population should exceed Southern Europe’s by close to 100 million people” (Sandell (2004). The Netherlands owns infrastructure worth approximately $2.5 trillion – put into perspective, that is equivalent to the annual USA-European Union commercial relationship – that has been emplaced to protect the people of that country from unwanted seawater incursions. There appears to be a 1% chance that a 1 m rise in global sea level will come to pass during the 21st century. [A 2 m rise is the current threshold defining “dangerous anthropogenic” alteration of the world’s ocean level (Hansen, 2005).] Assuming a cost of $1 million/linear kilometer, a total safeguard for the Mediterranean Sea Basin’s coast from incursive future sea level rise might cost almost $13 trillion! Of course, that is an excessive cost, quite unlikely to ever be considered anything other than ultimate limitation (Valiela, 2006). Such a completed macroproject would resemble David Ely’s imagined East Coast USA “dyke-wall” of AD 2064 postulated in his science-fiction novel A Journal of the Flood Year (1992)! Since “miscalculation or sheer ignorance of cost and difficulties was the key to launching a number of great and successful enterprises, from canals and railroads to mining and manufacturing” (Sawyer, 1952), it might seem best, even wise, to glibly gloss over the Gibraltar Strait Dam’s dangers and difficulties in public media so that modern-day macroengineers can be inspiring and calm, reassured by displayable positive cost/benefit analyses, attractive detailed construction blueprints and privately adjustable building timetables! As the 37th CIESM – The Mediterranean Science Commission Congress (7-11 June 2004) collectively generalized, the activities of humans tends to “globalize” the Mediterranean Sea, both biologically and otherwise. Nevertheless, some of the details of this possible macroproject proposal are revealed below. The optimal style of dam building is specific to the particular macroproject, the nature of the geophysical worksite (Anon., 2005) as well as social uncertainty, the undertaking management organization’s experience, the operational complexities of many kinds of construction machinery and worker nationalities, the macroproject’s situational geography and the logistics of its required compositional materials.
The Atlantropa Project is compared quite a bit with the Netherlands North Sea Reclaimation Project with its dam, dike and canal construction. While the engineering end of it isn’t as large in scope as Atlantropa, the tools and know-how utilized are similar because changing coastlines, fresh-water and land reclaimation play a vital role on evironmental impact studies. So the Netherland Project is closely monitored.
Professor Michio Kaku of the City University of New York stated that our present civilization is only a “Type Zero” on the Kardashev Scale of Technical Civilizations (I, II, III and even a IV). Type I indicates the planetary culture has full command of all planetary resources, i.e., can control the weather, use all energy resources (hydro, geothermal, nuclear, wind, solar, etc.) and live under under peaceful, or as close to peaceful conditions as possible. The Atlantropa Project is a terraforming endeavor that could determine whether mankind has what it takes to bring itself to the Type I level without destroying ourselves and the planet.
Is this tinfoil or not? You decide gentle readers.
I wasn’t going to post anything today, since it’s Sunday and I’m lazy on Sundays. But I couldn’t check out one of my regular haunts, Prison Planet this morning because it was attacked by hackers:
Prison Planet.com suffered a major attack last night after it was hacked.
The perpetrators could be trolls acting in response to our article about Wikipedia censorship yesterday or they could be acting on behalf of all manner of government agencies that we have clashed with over the years.
We have the command prompt information for the hack and are now in the process of identifying the culprit, with a view to pursuing criminal charges.
Every time we are hacked we respond in the same way, by re-doubling our efforts.
The article in question written by Alex Jones and Paul Joseph Watson entitled Time To Fight Back Against Online Disinfo Agents and Trolls is an expose about Internet trolls, and one troll in particular who is breaking into Wikipedia and altering information about 9/11 Truthers:
Whether they be CENTCOM disinfo government shills or just attention seeking morons, there’s a battle in cyberspace for the hearts and minds and we need to act now to fight back against these saboteurs. We are declaring a cyber war on Internet trolls.
Meet Morton Devonshire, a Wikipedia troll that spends most of his sad little life deleting and vandalizing pages on the popular public encyclopedia website about the 9/11 truth movement and other related subjects.
Devonshire’s stunted and worthless existence is given some token meaning by his involvement in an imaginary group called “The Counter-Propaganda Unit,” who devote themselves to trolling Wikipedia, which is supposed to be an open source for a diverse spread of information, and deleting pages about so-called “conspiracy theories”.
It looks like Alex and Co. are the targets of Mr. Devonshire’s “ire”. And it looks like he might’ve bitten off more than he can chew when it comes to Alex Jones, who has long predicted infowars and the long coming NWO.
Alex and the Watson Brothers have called upon their regular supporters and readers to spread the word more than ever in order to counter the broadening propaganda wars of disinformation. I will do my own small part.
I’m kinda getting bored with the same old title every weekend, but I couldn’t think of anything catchy either. Hopefully I’ll pass on something of interest irregardless of my lack of imagination.
Mirth of Liberally Mirth passed this along to me last week believing I would be interested and she was correct. Quasar9 is what I can only describe as “a ballet dancer spinning to the tune of the interstellar wind.” It is a science blog with an artistic twist to it and it is a beautiful thing to behold. The owner is described as, ” 11D(dimensions) Space Surfer. Like to travel fast, almost at the speed of light, to dance with the Starlight”.
I have made some comments on it and to my surprise I find a soft, artistic side to my crusty, dry old rantings, the site has an effect on you like that. And the author does try to make the postings palatable to a passerby who might be not as well versed in astrophysics and philosophy as his steady audience. Stop by and visit. I have also linked there and is listed in my blogroll.
When I was visiting Quasar9 , I came across this ezine in its blogroll and I checked it out. Cosmos Magazine is a science ezine that is comparable to New Scientist, in fact better in some instances. But I won’t discuss that now, my focus is on sci-fi today. Cosmos has a fiction section that features online fiction from known and unknown authors alike. There are short stories and serials. One short story I read is Going Somewhere Else, a sad tale of mother and child, but with a happy ending. And there is the serial Post Mortal Syndrome which describes mankind’s upcoming struggle with a technological Singularity.
Cosmos Magazine also features an Australian ezine called Velocity , which I believe is sponsored by the Australian government.
If you’re a part time science and science fiction geek like me, try these sites out. Now, gotta go make the donuts today, OT beckons!
From New Scientist:
NASA is investigating sabotage of a non-critical computer due to be flown to the International Space Station aboard the space shuttle Endeavour, which was cleared to lift off on 7 August, the space agency said on Thursday.
NASA revealed the sabotage a day ahead of releasing two studies that the publication Aviation Week says found astronauts were allowed to fly on at least two occasions despite warnings they were so drunk they posed a flight risk.
The damage to wiring in an electronics box was intentional and obvious, NASA’s associate administrator for space operations, Bill Gerstenmaier, told reporters at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, US.
NASA found cut cables inside the electronics box, which was being prepared to be loaded into Endeavour’s crew cabin for transport to the $100 billion space station.
Sabotage of a non-critical computer? What’s up with that? I would think any destruction, especially willful destruction of any and all space hardware should be a criminal offence. And then allowing drunk astronauts to board the shuttle, knowingly allowing these individuals to enter a spacecraft that has a dubious safety record at best and fly!
Billions of dollars have been spend on the shuttle missions over the past twenty-seven years, tax-payer dollars. The space shuttle was touted as a cheaper alternative to expendable rockets and save money over the long haul. Well, it hasn’t saved a penny and it’s proved to be more costly to operate than the old Saturn V moon rockets. As far as the safety record is concerned, I suppose the loss of two shuttles and fourteen (or fifteen?) astronauts over the past thirty some odd years would be considered acceptable, given that you’re going into orbit on top of what amounts to a gigantic Roman candle filled with nitro-clycerin strapped to your ass. I guess that could explain the getting shit-faced before getting on board such a monstrosity. But still, these people are supposed to be professionals who knowingly accept the risks involved. And most people believe progress comes at a high price, most of Columbus’s sailors didn’t expect to return from their trip. Unfortunately for the Native Americans, Columbus and Co. did. But that’s another story.
Plus add these sorry tales on top of what already happened this year to NASA concerning the “astronaut diaper” jokes:
Nowak, 43, told police she drove from Houston, Texas, to the Orlando International Airport to confront Colleen Shipman, whom Nowak considered a rival for the attentions of fellow astronaut Bill Oefelein the police affidavit said. The astronaut had disguised herself in a dark wig, glasses and a trench coat.
Nowak, a married flight engineer with three children, was awaiting her next flight assignment after travelling aboard the shuttle Discovery in July 2006.
Obviously, NASA needs to clean up its act here. Not only taxpayer dollars are being wasted but the integrity of the whole manned space program is in jeopardy. Probably one can make the argument that money for oversight of the program is diverted to Bu$hco’s 1984 themed Perpetual Wars, so blame could be passed along in that direction. And that could very well be the reason. But I believe the problem is deeper than that because NASA as a government agency has always had its budget cut and still always pushed to perform the way it has always had. Even when Bu$hco announced that the United States as a nation is returning to Lunar exploration, no additional monies were forthcoming, NASA had to make do with what it had and thusly had to cut some of it’s scientific space probe program, angering many scientists who thought their programs were already “sacred cows”.
So what is NASA to do? One logical move would be to revamp the astronaut screening process. I realize psychology is an art at best, not a precise science. One solution would be to require astronauts to undergo screening every six months instead of yearly. Another is surprise urinalysis screening for drugs and alcohol. Yes, I know that goes against the individual’s privacy and rights of personage I’m always preaching about, but when you sign a contract to operate billions of dollars worth of technology, one should be held responsible. Either that, or just abolish the whole shootin’ match and privatize the space program, let entrenpeneurs take the risk. If a drunk pilot or one that is f*ckin’ nuts pilots a ship with tourists on it crashes or gets arrested on doing something stupid, let their corporate bosses pay out huge insurance claims or fire their asses if they live. At least it’s their money, not ours.
NASA investigates sabotage of space-bound computer
For the few months I have had my own home on the Blogosphere, I have ranted about things as neoconservative politics, science, science-fiction, UFOS, government coverups and the numero uno topic, The New World Order and it’s smaller brother, The North American Union. Discussing the aforementioned topics label me as a conspiracy theorist extraordinaire and a master tinfoil hat wearer. To these charges I say, guilty.
Before I had my own blog though, I lurked and commented on various sites for five years. I am not a gregarious person by nature and even commenting took a certain nerve on my part. But I didn’t want to be a coward and post any remarks anonymously, so my alter-ego “dad2059” was born. One can call that cowardly as well, but that would include about 75% of the blogosphere. Besides, “anonymous” is ridiculous, everyone uses an alias, except a few people from what I’ve seen. But as I lurked, I learned.
The NWO and the NAU I more or less stumbled across while lurking at some politically liberal sites and after running across Prison Planet one day and read what was there, I happened to post a few responses to these sites I frequented. Needless to say the responses to those comments were less than complimentary. If it wasn’t curses placed upon Alex Jones and Steve Watson, my intellect was severely questioned just for reading their site. Not to mention how dare I question the “opposition” party and the democratic process. My, my, my.
Fast forward five years and things have changed. What was considered “tinfoil hat” then is accepted screed on the alternative media now. Has Alex Jones and people such as your’s truly all of a sudden gotten smarter, or is everyone else starting to wake up? Trouble is, it might be too late.
Now there’s quite a bit I don’t agree with Alex Jones on, but they’re too numerous to mention here right now, but let’s just say we agree on the main thing, the New World Order is real and it is not good for the human race. And events are now reaching a cusp point now that indicates that one important component for the formation of a World Government is about to take place, the North American Union.
I’m surprised that my pal the Uber Highwayman hasn’t latched onto this yet, being that this is taking place in Canada, but I’ll help him along here. There’s a big pow-wow to take place August 20 – 21st in Montebello, Quebec of the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP). Now to those not familiar with the SPP, it’s an agreement between the United States, Canada and Mexico that was signed in 2005 ensuring that, “…was launched in March of 2005 as a trilateral effort to increase security and enhance prosperity among the United States, Canada and Mexico through greater cooperation and information sharing.”
The security part is what I’m getting to here. Apparently, the U.S. Army is providing security for the meeting of the SPP:
The Security and Prosperity Partnership meeting in Montebello, Quebec on August 20 and 21 is to be policed by American forces, who along with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) have already refused to allow the Municipality of Papineauville, which is about six kilometres from Montebello, to rent a community centre
to the Council of Canadians action group who were planning to hold a public forum the night before the confab to express their concerns about the meeting and the issues being discussed.
“It is deplorable that we are being prevented from bringing together a panel of writers, academics and parliamentarians to share their concerns about the Security and Prosperity Partnership with Canadians,” said Brent Patterson, director of organizing with the Council of Canadians. “Meanwhile, six kilometres away, corporate leaders from the United States, Mexico and Canada will have unimpeded access to our political leaders.”
The Council of Canadians has also been told that in addition to the 25km perimeter in Montebello, there will be checkpoints in nearby areas, and vehicles carrying more than five people will be turned back.
It seems that the Canadians are already being subjected to “Show me zee paperz pleeze” ala Nazi and Stalinist technique. It must be quite a shock to some Canadians to learn that their country already has an occupying Army in their midst, but not all:
CAP’s leader said,”Bad enough that our RCMP and the Quebec provincial police force would apply offensive Canadian law to prevent a legitimate meeting of dissenting citizens. Totally untenable that a foreign army assumes jurisdiction on our land. But this we knew from the Binational Planning Agreement begun in 2002 that saw Canada crawl on its belly and permit the USA military to enter our land whenever it deems necessary. “
“Does anyone still believe that our federal leaders have not thrown away our sovereignty ? That from Chretien (Liberal) to Martin (Liberal) to Harper (Conservative), the Prime Ministers of our land have not been committing treason behind closed doors? How otherwise would it be possible that a proud, sovereign, and free nation would see a foreign army on its soil interfering with the right of Canadians to assemble and to speak?”
Canadians are getting a small dose of what the coming of the North American Union is all about. It will be only a matter of time before Americans get a taste as well.
From Global Research:
U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr., has joined the chorus of those in high places who are warning of a major worldwide economic downturn.
Paulson was quoted at length in a July 23, 2007, article in Fortune by Rik Kirkland entitled, “The Greatest Economic Boom Ever: Enjoy It While It Lasts.” Paulson’s remarks came in the context of assessing the ability of the highly-leveraged equity, hedge, and derivative markets to withstand the shocks to come. He told Fortune in an interview:
“We haven’t had a global financial shock since 1998. I believe that these large and dramatic increases in private pools of capital and in the credit derivatives markets since then have helped manage and disperse risk and make the economy more efficient. When we do have one—and it’s when, not if; that’s not me being negative, it’s just that we’re not going to defy economic gravity—we’ll be seeing for the first time how some of these instruments perform under stress.”
The Fortune article notes that the fate of the global economy depends in large measure on the ability of the U.S. consumer to continue to buy what the rest of the world produces. But, as Fortune indicates, the economic fundamentals continue to move in the wrong direction.
The U.S. current account deficit, they point out, continues to plunge, heading toward the $900 billion mark, almost nine percent of GDP. U.S. household debt as a percentage of personal income has shot up almost thirty-five percent since 2000. While real income stagnates for the U.S. middle class, asset and commodity prices are surging, with gasoline prices leading the way and the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index doubling since 2001. Financing in the business world is increasingly shaky, with loans to companies with “junk” credit ratings soaring from under $50 billion a year in 2001 to over $200 billion in 2006.
So in other words, the economy has to obey the laws of Newtonian physics, “What goes up, must come down.”
No sh*t Sherlock. Everyone in alternative media on the InnerTubes here has known for quite a while now that that the falsely inflated property values and cheap credit allowing people to spend more than what that earn (which is falling by the day) has been fueling this fake “growing” economy. The sub-prime lending bust is just a precursor to further calamities. But our fearless leaders, Bu$hco and Cheneyburton have of course been silent about this:
What are the politicians saying? Both President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney, who may be hoping to escape in one piece after eight years of economic malpractice, are silent on the subject of a possible downturn.
Why should they say anything, as far as they’re concerned, especially the NWO patsy Bu$h, it’s “mission accomplished”. Having bankrupted the U.S. economy stupendously through wars for oil resources and cutting taxes for his elitist pals, Bu$h has virtually garuanteed that a crash is inevitable.
But what do the potential Presidential candidates have to say about it? Not much:
Also silent, unfortunately, are Republican and Democratic front-runners Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton.
So obsessed with his image of having been in the vicinity of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001, Giuliani seems blissfully unaware that there is such a thing as an economy.
Though Clinton speaks of the need for economic fairness, she has few concrete proposals for getting us there. She must also bear some degree of association with the failed policies of her husband’s administration which brought us the strong dollar, the dot-com bubble, and NAFTA, all of which led to the bust of 2000-2002 and the outsourcing of huge numbers of U.S. manufacturing jobs.
The only Republican who speaks to broad economic issues is Ron Paul, who has called for the Federal Reserve to be abolished as a step toward financial sanity. We’ll see how Dr. Paul, a long-shot to say the least, fares in the Republican primaries. Party kingmakers are terrified of his rising grassroots support.
On the Democratic side, John Edwards has established his credentials in speaking for the millions of Americans in poverty who have been left out and is broadening his message to include the middle class as well. At the end of a three-day poverty tour to Appalachia, Edwards said in a July 18 speech in Prestonburg, Kentucky, “This cause, this march we’re on, is not just about the poor. Everybody’s at risk. Everybody’s vulnerable.”
Candidate Barak Obama has also discovered the anti-poverty theme, while Congressman Dennis Kucinich has consistently been emphasizing ideas of economic reform while proposing the creation of jobs through such proposals as a Federal Infrastructure Modernization Bank.
I don’t agree with Ron Paul’s economic policies per se, because he advocates no help for the poor and indigent, other than private charities. But I do agree with his stand on abolishing the Federal Reserve System, which he knows is a tool for the NWO and government fascism. His grass-roots support is a surprise for the NWO elites and there’s an extensive campaign to discredit him. It ain’t workin’. But the chances of him getting nominated on the GOPer ticket is zero given that he’s a classic conservative, not a fascist neocon imperialist.
Back on topic, the article’s author offers up a solution to the coming crash and the point of my screed today:
A truly comprehensive program of monetary reform, as I have described in other articles, would provide purchasing power to consumers, businesses, and government at a rate that would match the incredible productivity brought into existence by modern science and technology. This injection of purchasing power, over and above earnings, should no longer be carried out through the unfair and outmoded methodology of bank-created debt.
In other words, there should be enough cash and credit in circulation to purchase what industry can produce, and for people to obtain what they need for a decent life, without our economy constantly having to go deeper and deeper into the red.
To accomplish this, the government can and should make direct cash allocations to individuals without recourse to taxation or borrowing. This infusion of purchasing power is needed because income from jobs cannot keep up with total production when a large portion of industrial earnings is withheld for future innovation, as must be done in today’s technology-rich environment.
For a business entity to remain profitable, it must save and reinvest. These savings are recovered through prices that exceed purchasing power distributed through wages, salaries, and dividends. This leaves a “gap” which today is filled by bank-credit. But it’s the wrong way to run an economy. The gap, which is a normal feature of industrial production, should instead be filled by free government-distributed credit through what has been called a National Dividend.
A National Dividend should not be tied to employment. It should be obvious that as fewer workers are needed to produce more and more goods and services, the benefits of rising productivity can only be realized if the government provides purchasing power to individuals and families whether they are working at the moment or not. Such allocations could be made without inflationary pressures as long as they did not exceed the economy’s producing potential.
Similarly, the system of public finance whereby the banking system creates credit out of nothing in order to lend money back to the government has never made sense. As Thomas Edison and others in U.S. history have pointed out, the government can just as well create and spend interest-free money directly into circulation as was done successfully with the Greenbacks during the nineteenth century.
A comprehensive system of reform measures suitable to today’s conditions would include 1) cancellation of substantial portions of existing debt; 2) direct issuance by the government of a guaranteed basic income/National Dividend that would average at least $12,500 per person per year; 3) direct spending by government on infrastructure improvements; 4) a new system of low-cost credit for consumers and small businesses; 5) abolishment of the Federal Reserve as a bank of issue with its retention only as a financial transaction clearinghouse; and 6) elimination from the capital markets of all bank lending for financial speculation through return to the “real bills” doctrine of lending.
These provisions would acknowledge the awesome power of credit creation as a public utility as provided for by the U.S. Constitution in the section that grants Congress the authority to regulate the money supply. Such a program would also allow a significant reduction in taxation. Day-to-day responsibility should be vested in a Monetary Control Board reporting to the executive branch, as provided for in the model American Monetary Act drafted by the American Monetary Institute.
If I read this correctly, he is advocating direct government income to citizens in order for them to survive economic down-turns and to buy the everyday necessities. Small businesses would also receive direct payment from the government. But what does this plan eerily sound like?
If you said communism, give yourself a reward of your choice. My theory is that in order to accomplish this plan, the economic system has to be totally destroyed first before any of this can be implemented, the whole shooting match has to be done from scratch. Wouldn’t that be an opportune time for the amero to be introduced? Wouldn’t that also be a good time to form an economic zone that encompasses Canada, U.S. and Mexico, because government officials would bloviate the benefits of joining the economies of all of North America to recover from financial ruin?
Am I nuts? Am I a tinfoil hat crazy? You bet. But look around yourself for a change. What do you see?
Edgar Rice Burroughs and H.G. Wells wrote about Martian kingdoms, princesses, green warriors, slimy octopus type creatures and powerful invasion forces. Modern space probes, mounted with the most advanced camera equipment with all kinds of sensors and robot rovers with wheels have taken care of that vision of Mars, home of an ancient advanced civilization.
Or have they?
Toward the end of the Soviet Era, the U.S.S.R. sent a couple of Mars probes called Phobos 1 and Phobos 2. As their names implied, their primary mission was to explore the two moons of Mars, Phobos and Deimos. But Phobos was the primary target. But as the probes closed in on their target, something odd started to happen:
In July 1988, the Russians launched two unmanned satellite probes – Phobos 1 and phobos 2 – in the direction of Mars, and with the primary intention of investigating the planet’s mysterious moon, Phobos. Phobos 1 was unfortunately lost en route two months later, reportedly because of a radio command error. Phobos 2 was also ultimately lost in the most intriguing circumstances, but not before it had beamed back certain images and information from the planet Mars itself.
Phobos 2 arrived safely at Mars in January 1989 and entered into and orbit around Mars as the first step at its destination towards its ultimate goal: to transfer to an orbit that the would make it fly almost in tandem with the Martian moonlet called Phobos (hence the spacecrafts name) and explore the moonlet with highly sophisticated equipment that included two packages of instruments to be placed on the moonlet’s surface.
All went well until Phobos aligned itself with Phobos, the Martian moonlet. Then, on 28th March, the Soviet mission control centre acknowledged sudden communication “problems” with the spacecraft; Tass the, the official Soviet news agency, reported that “Phobos 2 had failed to communicate with Earth as scheduled after completing an operation yesterday around the Martian moon Phobos. Scientists at mission control have been unable to establish stable radio contact.”
Needless to say this caused much consternation within the Soviet government (which was about to fall) and the scientific community. The Soviets were masters of government secrecy also (Dick Cheney was a 4.0 student) so information wasn’t coming too fast. What had caused the probes to malfunction? There is a point to note that almost half of the probes ever sent to Mars almost always malfunction and fail in some way*.
After being pressured by the scientific community for months, the Soviets finally released some info:
The answer came about three months later. Pressed by the international participants in the Phobos mission to privide definitive data, the Soviet authorities released a taped television transmission Phobos 2 sent in its last moments except for the last frames, taken just seconds before the spacecraft fell silent. The television clip was shown by some TV stations in Europe and Canada as part of weekly ‘diary’ programs, as a curiosity and not as a hot news item.
The television sequence thus released focused on two anomalies. The first was a network of straight lines in the area of the Martian equator; some of the lines were short, some were longer, some were thin, some were wide enough to look like rectangular shapes ’embossed’ in the Martian surface. Arranged in rows parallel to each other, the pattern covered an area of some six hundred square kilometers (more than two hundred and thirty quare miles). The anomaly appeared to be far from a natural phenomenon.
The television clip was accompanied by a live comment by Dr. John Becklake of the London Science Museum.
He described the phenomenon as very puzzling, because the pattern seen on the surface of Mars was photographed with the spacecraft’s optical camera but with its infrared camera- a camera that takes pictures of objects using the heat that they radiate, and not by the play of light and shadow on them. In other words, the pattern of parallel lines and rectangles covering an area of almost two hundred and fifty square miles was a source of heat radiation. It is so highly unlikely that a natural source of heat radiation (a geyser or a concentration of radioactive minerals under the surface, for example) would create such a perfect geometric pattern. When viewed over and over again, the pattern definitely looks artificial; but as for what it was, the scientist said “I certainly don’t know.”
According to Boris Bolitsky, science correspondent for Radio Moscow, just before radio contact was lost with Phobos 2, several unusual images were radioed back to Earth, described by the Russian as “Quite remarkable features”. A report taken from New Scientist of 8 April 1989, described the following: “The features are either on the Martian surface or in the lower atmosphere. The features are between 20 and 25 kilometers wide and do not resemble any known geological formation. They are spindle – shaped and proving to be intriguing and puzzling.”
Since no coordinates for the precise location of this “anomalous feature” have been released publicly, it is impossible to judge its relationship to another puzzling feature on the surface of Mars that can be seen in Mariner 9 frame 4209-75. It is also located in the equatorial area (at longitude 186.4) and has been described as “unusual indentations with radial arms protruding from a central hub” , caused (according to NASA scientists) by the melting and collapse of permafrost layers. The design of the features, bringing to mind the structure of a modern airport with a circular hub from which long structures housing the airplane gates radiate, can be better visualized when the photograph is reversed (showing depressions and protrusions).
I know, I know, what about the “Face on Mars” that was debunked a while back using advanced cameras on the Mars Global Surveyor? Well, that was a “visual” image, not infared, which detects heat signatures. Also it was noted that Phobos 2 took a picture before communication was lost:
What is that long cylindrical object? Was it responsible for the Soviet probes “disappearing”? Is the object part of an advanced fleet from another civilization that already staked claims to Mars and aims to keep us off from it? Frightening prospect. Is this why world governments and the NWO trying to reverse engineer crashed alien tech, to perhaps fight aliens in a future space war? Is this the reason Bu$h wanted to militarize space, so the U.S. can be top dog still if we are attacked?
When a political heavyweight, like Henry Kissinger, jets-off on a secret mission to Moscow; it usually shows up in the news.
Not this time.
This time the media completely ignored—or should we say censored—Kissinger’s trip to Russia and his meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In fact, apart from a few short blurps in the Moscow Times and one measly article in the UK Guardian, no major news organization even covered the story. There hasn’t been as much as a peep out of anyone in the American media.
Nothing. That means the meetings were probably arranged by Dick Cheney. The secretive Veep doesn’t like anyone knowing what he’s up to.
Kissinger was accompanied on his junket by a delegation of high-powered political and corporate big-wigs including former Secretary of State George Schultz, former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, former Special Representative for Arms Control, Nonproliferation and Disarmament Ambassador Thomas Graham Jr., former Senator Sam Nunn and Chevron Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David O’Reilly.
Wow. Now, there’s an impressive line up.
The group was (presumably) sent to carry out official government business as discreetly as possible. The media obviously complied with White House requests and kept their mouths shut.
This is true to my knowledge. The CMSM has not offered even one peep about this visit. In fact, this is the first time I’ve come across this info on the InnerTubes.
Vladimir Putin isn’t having any of the NWO interference in Russia’s affairs and he certainly isn’t buying into the American propaganda that the missile defense launchers destined for former Warsaw Pact countries in Eastern Europe are for “Iranian Missiles”. Obviously Kissinger and Co. went to convince “Pooty-Poot” that there might be something in it for him if he played along with the NWO’s current puppet, the good ol’ U.S. of A.
But Putin being the real international leader he is, sent the fascists packing. The old war criminal Kissinger when asked if his visit was successful or not replied, “We appreciate the time that President Putin gave us and the frank manner in which he explained his point of view.”
Ha-hah, f*cking ha! Take that globalists!
But not even two days later this happened:
Less than 48 hours after the “Russia-USA: A View on the Future” conference had ended, British Foreign Secretary, David Miliband announced that the British government “would expel four diplomats from the Russian Embassy in London in response to Russia’s refusal to extradite Andrei K. Lugovoi, whom the British prosecutors accused of using radioactive Polonium 210 to poison a Kremlin critic and former K.G.B. agent, Alexander Litvinenko, last fall.” (New York Times)
Coincidence? I don’t think so. Putin and Russia are going to be subjected to a massive black-ops propaganda campaign like Iran is at the present, probably worse. But being an old KGB man, I’m sure Putin will launch his own, like into Europe. Which as a matter of fact, gets most of it’s energy supplies through Russia. How long do you think Europe is going to listen to NWO puppet America? Especially when freezing in the dark is a real possibility to an European Union beholden to the Russian Energy Bear?

Orion’s Arm is a world-group building science-fiction project put together by amatuer writers and gamers. There are several sections and topics to the site and it has an e-zine called Voices:Future Tense. It features sections that most ‘zines offer; Editorials, Serials, Short stories and reviews. Submissions are welcome, and thus learning about Orion’s Arm is essential:
Our goal is to create a dramatic far-future universe that is internally consistent and abides as much as possible with the accepted facts and theories in the physical, biological, and social sciences. Thus matter cannot travel faster than light, matter and energy are conserved, no evolved humanoid aliens have been discovered, future ultratech social issues are likely to be very different to those of today, and so on. We embrace speculative ideas like drexlerian assemblers, mind uploads, posthuman intelligences, femtotech, magnetic monopoles, wormholes, as it is proposed that future sciences, technologies, and developments will make these possible. And we attempt a logical explanation for even the most fantastic-seeming elements in OA. We aim to paint a future that is plausible at every level, from the scientific to the social to the psychological.
Orion’s Arm is for amatuers, by amatuers. Once you check out the site, you’ll be amazed by the quality of talent that is on display there. I used to visit there quite often before I started my blog here and I wish someday I can offer some of the things they do. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough hours in a day to work on a project of that magnitude.

Voices: Future Tense: An Orion’s Arm E-ZINE
I’ve been a computer user for ten years now. Since I started in my late thirties, I was way behind the curve when it came to knowing how to use a computer and utilize the various programs involved. To say the least, I’m quite an accomplished Microsoft Office user now (I found out later that’s not a claim to fame). Anyway, over the years I have taken various computer courses, either in programming (C++ and Visual Basic, I suck) , HTML (not very good at either) and more updated Microsoft stuff (no Vista yet). I’ve even taken a hardware course, so I know some basic stuff about processors, buses, chips, ROM, RAM, bios, clockspeed, etc.
But when it came to chip and processor manufacturing, I knew diddly squat. I knew most chips were ceramic, with copper, silver, nichol and even gold inlaid into them. And the more pathways squeezed onto the chip, the faster the processor speed. But the trouble with that is that the heat generated is higher as the speed increases. Big problem. It also makes it looks like there’s a limit to Moore’s Law.
Enter Optical Processing. Optical transistors have been in the works for a while now and even though the processing speed is greater (speed of light) the energy required to use them is quite high. The reason is that these transistors has to utilize a whole beam of light to activate them from one state to another. But now researchers have found a way for the transistors to activate using a single photon of light:
Mikhail Lukin and colleagues at Harvard University have come up with a technique that uses a single photon to switch the state of a light beam. This is the first workable suggestion for building an optical computer, they say.
An electrical transistor’s speed is limited by the speed at which an electric current flows. In theory, because photons travel much faster than an electric current, substituting photons for electrons would speed things up. In reality, however, finding the optical equivalent of a transistor has proved difficult.
…Lukin suggests using a semiconducting nanowire that resembles a miniature optical fibre, and sending both beams down it. Because the nanowire confines the rippling plasmon to a smaller space than the gold film, it should be more sensitive to changes in the intensity of the control beam. Lukin says that this increased sensitivity is enough to allow just a single photon to switch the state of the signal beam.
Nanotech is going to play a huge part in the next stage of computer evolution, just by reducing the size of the carrier fiber, light can be taken down to the quantum level photon that can actuate the transistors. This reduces the energy requirement and waste heat also, two for one!
I wish I was smart enough to get a job doing this stuff!
