James Cawley, Star Trek fan, actor and entrenpeneur, is the head of the Cawley Entertainment Company. Started in 2002, Cawley undertook the daunting task any true fan of Star Trek has ever undertaken; Continuing and completing the 5 year mission of the original U.S.S. Enterprise.
With the help of an all volunteer group of amateur actors, directors, producers and Cawley’s own time and money, the group has turned out one episode per year with the goal of completing 22 episodes (comprising a regular season). Obviously they need to put out more than one per year, but they’re gaining. This year they put out World Enough and Time, starring the original Sulu, George Takei and another, Blood and Fire, written by original Trek writer and director David Gerrold and starring Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Denise Crosby.
The following is the original pilot for New Voyages titled Come What May in four parts via YouTube. The acting, sets, dialog and all that stuff associated with original Trek is campy and cheesy, really cheesy. But trust me, the acting and other stuff get better as they film more episodes. The commentary on this fan site is favorable and they definitely like this product better than what they’ve been getting from Paramount the past few years.
Here’s a spoiler, guess who the Morac are toward the end of Part IV? Sweet! Enjoy the show.
