Synthetic or Artificial; What’s in a name?

Dr Hamilton Smith, who was part of the Science study, said the team regarded its lab-made genome – a laboratory copy of the DNA used by the bacterium Mycoplasma genitalium – as a step towards synthetic, rather than artificial, life. He told BBC News: “We like to distinguish synthetic life from artificial life. “With synthetic life, we’re re-designing the cell chromosomes; we’re not creating a whole new artificial life system.”

IMHO it’s not going to matter in the public perception, most people believe synthetic and artificial mean the same thing. Semantics aren’t going to matter when the Frankenstein Monster syndrome takes hold.

Air Force claims jets were in UFO area

“In the interest of public awareness, Air Force Reserve Command Public Affairs realized an error was made regarding the reported training activity of military aircraft. Ten F-16s from the 457th Fighter Squadron were performing training operations from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday January 8, 2008, in the Brownwood Military Operating Area (MOA), which includes the airspace above Erath County.”

Maj. Karl Lewis, a spokesman for the 301st Fighter Wing at the former Carswell Field, blamed the erroneous release on “an internal communications error.”

To UFO, or not UFO, that is the question. If anybody at all still believes the Air Force has any credibility concerning the phenomenon, they might as well go back under the rock they’ve been living under for the past 60 years and turn their TV back on.

Yeah, I’ve been accused of this sin many times! (Being a space cadet that is!)

    1. A jar-headed space cadet, too! LOL!

It is amazing, though, the public’s capacity to get things fouled up. I’ve been with people who were standing around, slack-jawed, as a satellite is passing overhead (or an airliner) at night, and they’re all excited thinking they’ve just seen an ET craft. I’ve watched these things for years, and know what they are, but do you think you can tell THEM that? No WAY!

I know why people want to see these things, and I understand. Facts are, most sightings are explainable by terrestrial phenomena. Yeah, people counter with; “Well, YOU just want to see what YOU want, too!”

I just let time and the available evidence reveal what is and what isn’t. Up to now, (in my view) there hasn’t been much more than the testimony of those like I described earlier.

I do know there is a powerful motive for the NWO to promote UFOlogy, though. Much like the “space program”, it could be a cash cow in many ways. Venturing any further on this, and I’m delving into speculation, though. But, I trust my instincts… and my knowledge of bankers!

    2. I also see the rub between natural and artificial. What REALLY is there in a name?

      What IS reality?

The longer I live, the less sure I am of anything! In the end, what is there but faith… misplaced or no?

    3. Frankenstein Monster indeed. Why DR. Smith would want to make a synthetic copy of any Mycoplasma is a question that we should ask the NWO…):?

Mycoplasma Fermetans Incognito is one of the biological weapons that came out of Los Alamos and Livermore boratories in the years leading up to Gulf War 1 and emerged as what Prof. Garth Nicolson discovered was one of the causes if not the cause of Gulf War Illness

      AND

In his book “AIDS: What the Discoverers of HIV Never Admitted”, Dr. Lawrence Broxmeyer outlines the relationship between Aides and mycoplasma.

The earlier form of Mycoplasma was studied by Dr. Shyh Lo, formerly of Tanox Biosystems in the 1950’s, a spin-off biotechnology company from the Baylor College of Medicine, but now affiliated with the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington D.C. Dr. Lo has been credited with discovering the new pathogenic form of Mycoplasmas, and he currently holds several patents on methods for special handling of the organisms for study and development. In one of his patents (in 1991), Dr. Lo lists the following diseases that are caused by Mycoplasma: HIV infection, AIDS, Aids Related Complex (ARC), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Wegener’s Disease, Sarcoidosis, Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Kibuchi’s Disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, and Lupus. In addition, Baseman and Tully have reviewed the literature on the role of Mycoplasmal infections in human disease and have concluded that they are important factors or co-factors in a variety of chronic illnesses.

I’m probably re-iterating common knowledge, but this sort of biological irresponsability really trips my trigger…G:

    4. HW: People have been fascinated with the sky forever. Many ancient cultures were accomplished sky watchers. They saw UFOs and other oddities as well. It’s human. There’s nothing sinister in that. Other than they probably mistook UFOs for gods. Yeah, I know that rattles your cage, but I think Satan had better things to do. Like breeding nephilim.

G: Obviously, creating artificial nasties has a long, undistinguished history. Recent developments seems to have only refined the process.
