Atlantis and Heavy Stuff

A “grid of streets” on the seabed at one of the proposed locations of the lost city of Atlantis has been spotted on Google Ocean.

The network of criss-cross lines is 620 miles off the coast of north west Africa near the Canary Islands on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean.

The perfect rectangle – which is around the size of Wales – was noticed on the search giant’s underwater exploration tool by an aeronautical engineer who claims it looks like an “aerial map” of a city.

The underwater image can be found at the co-ordinates 31 15’15.53N 24 15’30.53W.

Last night Atlantis experts said that the unexplained grid is located at one of the possible sites of the legendary island, which was described by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato.

According to his account, the city sank beneath the ocean after its residents made a failed effort to conquer Athens around 9000 BC.

This would be one of the most important archeological finds in 100 years if this proves to be true. Mainstream archeologists would be forced to rewrite history; from the Sumerians and Egyptians to the present.

Of course there will be those who poo-poo this as natural or fake.

Grants and tenures will be on the line here.

The Heavy Stuff:

[…]

THS, when mentioning different entity types,  wasn’t referring about the internet speculation (with some added  fantasy perhaps) that multiple alien races are here, permenantly,  in Earth’s biosphere and are probably interacting with humans (some say dozens of races). No, what THS was and is referring to  is `spaces’* (entities) which do not have an equal `basis’ of `common reality’ grounding – compared to a human. (Wordy, THS knows, but we will get much more specific in a bit.) Let THS attempt to explain:

[* Remember, much of the Phillips Phenomenology (PP) positions `space’ as a characteristic which must be actualized for an event to occur. The PP describes `different types of spaces’ – and where they occur.]

Type One – Aliens/Entities

(Real & Travel In Craft)

Type One Properties —> Real `physical’ alien – in the same manner that a human is `physical’ . A being with a birth, and, on-going, contiguous,  `space-time’ reality – rooted in our same human perceived outer reality that we as humans consider a  `common consensus’ – considered by all to be called our `real’** ontology. Type One Aliens are beings that do NOT exceed the speed of light for travel and are beings that travel by craft. They are beings that do not need to `become objective’ to reveal `their reality of space’. They would be beings as trapped in our common reality as we humans are.

**[In other words, if a class of 100 college biology students were asked in an auditorium classroom if any of them thought the lecture was a `being dreamed’ as opposed to being experienced while awake – all would KNOW it wasn’t a dreamstate. (Then again with college students who knows, right?)]

Comment – To humans at our 2009 level of consciousness, these Type One Aliens are the most real and `humanlike’  of all alien types. `They’ will probably have arms, legs, a head, be able to communicate with each other – etc – humanlike characteristics of which humans can identify. Nevertheless, `aliens’ of any sort are inherently scary to most humans, of course.

However, type one beings that travel `anywhere’ in the universe ONLY below the speed of light – can be assumed to be rare; very rare – in ANY one particular location, including Earth. That said, being very rare – in a near infinite universe – does not mean non-existent or impossible. Indeed, while of low probability to be at any one location in the universe – this would be the alien/entity type MOST likely to have an interest in living planets like Earth.

But, would such beings, Type One beings,  be so focused as `being here’ only in the last 60 years? (Or would it be another type of the four entity/alien choices THS will review?) Wouldn’t such type one beings be just as likely to have been here, around Earth, for at least the last few hundred million years? You know, coming and going at will over the millenia – perhaps staying on occasion for eons.

Could we really expect that more than a  handful would be `around’ in any given era like ours? (If they did `stick around’ how many `aliens’ would they need to have a sustainable population?) Could we really expect a huge increase within a short period of 60 years, that we seem to have experienced,  from beings that use  `moving craft’ in a `galaxy’ context? (If there has been such an increase in the last 60 years.)

Indeed, the idea of a sudden increase in `this type’ of alien – a type one alien/entity – just seems unlikely, logically. Why? Well, first, T1 beings living below the `light threshold’ would not even have knowledge of mans recent advancements – outside of a 60 year light cone. Could there really be a significant number of civilizations within 60 years that have humanlike entities that have crafts that go a significant % of the speed of light? And who would want to come HERE if they did have such `slow’ `interstellar’ craft? It simply seems unlikely.

———————–

This is the most intelligent breakdown of the “types” of  “aliens” that permeate our cultures and world consciousness.

Some, like the author mentions, do have some science behind them, like the ‘solid’  creatures who appear and disappear at will. This can be explained by advanced nanotech, or beamed telepresence via quantum entanglement.

Either method requires knowledge of quantum physics well beyond our own, akin to ‘magic’ or ‘supernatural powers.’

Human Anomalies and Earth-like Planets

Kiiriq recalled that elders would call them Tunnit or Inukpasuit, the giants. They were treated as fearsome coastal dwellers and were considered enemies of Inuit. They spoke an Inuit language of an archaic type understandable to our ancestors.

Kiiriq would continue his tale and describe how Inupasuit were viewed as unkempt and unclean by Inuit standards. They were considered a danger to Inuit because they at times waylaid and captured unwary hunters.

Being smaller then them, our ancestors were considered a delectable prey. Once captured, they would be cooked and eaten with relish. Thus Inuit feared these giant beings and would attempt to wipe them out if they could. They were considered slow of thought but clever in their means of pursuit of game.  Inuit were ever moving eastward and the Inupasuit soon fell into the lot of myths and legends in our great grandparents’ time.

My research led me to Farley Mowat, author of Westviking, who includes descriptive appendices called “The Vanished Dorset”.

Mowat provides a description by the Norse who encountered the Dorset (Tunnit) around A.D.1000 as being swarthy and ill looking with remarkable eyes.

The “giants in the earth” mythos is common in Northern Native American cultures too it seems.

I read an article in a magazine a few years back about a tribe of Native Americans living around Hudson Bay that curiously have Northern European genetic markers.

And no-one knows why.

Earth-like planets with life-sustaining conditions are spinning around stars in our galactic neighborhood, US astrophysicists say. They just haven’t been found yet.

“There are something like a few dozen solar-type stars within something like 30 light years of the sun, and I would think that a good number of those — perhaps half of them have Earth-like planets,” Alan Boss told the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AASS).

“So I think there is a very good chance that we will find some Earth-like planets within 10, 20 or 30 light years of the Sun,” the astrophysicist from the Carnegie Institution for Science told his AAAS colleagues meeting here since Thursday.

By “Earth-like”, they mean a rocky world that’s Mars-size to something five times the Earth’s mass, but less than the mass of a Neptunian world.

That leaves plenty of wriggle-room for interpretation.

75,000 years ago early humans built a stone calendar that predates all other man-made structures found to date. This ‘African Stonehenge’ has for the first time created a link to the countless other stone ruins in southern Africa and suggests that these ruins are much older than we thought. The complex that links Waterval Boven, Machadodorp, Carolina and Dullstroom, covers an area larger then modern-day Johannesburg.
Six years of research by a group of independent scientists and explorers has delivered what may be the crucial missing elements in our understanding of the lives and development of early modern humans. Their discovery has been released in a book they call Adam’s Calendar. But the research has also shown that these stone settlements represent the most mysterious and misunderstood structures found to date. It points to a civilisation that lived and dug for gold in this part of the world for thousands of years. And if this is in fact the cradle of humankind, we may be looking at the activities of the oldest civilisation on Earth.

I wonder if those ruins have any relationship to these in South America?

Maybe Michael Cremo isn’t so crazy after all?

Wednesday Archeology

Klaus Schmidt used to grub around in caves in his native Germany in the hope of finding prehistoric paintings. Thirty years later, as a member of the German Archaeological Institute, he found something infinitely more important: a temple complex almost twice as old as anything comparable.

“This place is a supernova,” said Mr. Schmidt, standing under a lone tree on a windswept hilltop 35 miles north of the Syrian border.

“Within a minute of first seeing it, I knew I had two choices: go away and tell nobody, or spend the rest of my life working here.”

Behind him are the first folds of the Anatolian Plateau. Ahead, the Mesopotamian plain, like a dust-colored sea, stretches south hundreds of miles to Baghdad and beyond. The stone circles of Gobekli Tepe, his workplace since 1994, are just in front, hidden under the brow of the hill.

Compared with Stonehenge, they are humble affairs. None of the circles that have been excavated, four out of an estimated 20, is more than 100 feet across. Two of the slender, T-shaped pillars tower at least three feet above their peers.

What makes them remarkable are the carved reliefs of boars, foxes, lions, birds, snakes and scorpions that cover them, and their age. Dated at about 9500 B.C., these stones are 5,500 years older than the first cities of Mesopotamia and 7,000 years older than Stonehenge.

Nevermind wheels or writing, the people who erected them did not even have pottery or domesticated wheat. They lived in villages, but were hunters, not farmers…

While I am usually sceptical about what’s inside the pages of The Washington Times, this is the real deal. What I don’t understand is how archeologists have determined that the people who built these monuments/religious carvings didn’t practice agriculture? Is it because the estimated age of the site pre-dates ‘mainstream’ dates of when agriculture started and the culture who built these structures were ‘assumed’ to be hunter/gatherers? Or did they actually do some science and test around the area, other than to say there weren’t any houses in evidence?

It would be great if another site like that popped up in Central Europe, only a little older. Michael Tsarion would love it! So would I.

Archaeological studies on some engravings on rocks on Khark Island have identified them as a compass and ancient game boards.

The engravings are between 2000 and 3000 years old, archaeologist Reza Moradi Ghiasabadi, who conducted the recently concluded studies, told the Persian service of CHN on Saturday.

The compass has been etched in rectangular form with rounded angles on a flat rock located on the ground beside an ancient route, Moradi Ghiasabadi explained. A curve has been engraved on the upper half and four lines forming a cross stretch to the four sides of the rectangular shape, he noted.

The lines have been placed in a position to determine the cardinal points and have only two degrees of error based on the Global Positioning System (GPS), he added.

The compass has been damaged in some parts because it appears to have been severed from a larger rock in a collapse.

“It is a unique discovery in Iran and a great effort should be made to safeguard it because we must not relocate it due to its use in positioning,” Moradi Ghiasabadi noted.

Iran is another ancient nation like Iraq was. Say what you want, “the British created Iran and Iraq after WWI after the break-up of the Ottoman Empire”, yadda-yadda-yadda. Whatever. The point is  the region was touted as the beginning of our civilization at one time, now it’s a geopolitical hot-zone with oil as the prize, cultural history be damned. One country has been destroyed and another has been in the gun-sights for a while. It does seem awfully timely for Iran to discover these ancient sites at these most precipitous times, but hey, if you’re into conspiracy theories and ancient history, this stuff is great!

Our great grandfathers called it Ta-Seti, Land of the Bow. They were referring to the area south of the First Cataract at Aswan, and the reason behind the name was the unparalleled skill its inhabitants demonstrated when using the bow as a method of arm. Those excellent bowmen were actually the Kushites.

At first, Egyptians, as back as the First Dynasty, would send expeditions to the area in pursuit of slaves as well as the exploration of new sites where copper and gold could be mined. Egyptian influence grew and by the Middle Kingdom, a series of strongholds and fortresses controlled the Nile at the Second Cataract. Their influence over the area grew further through the New Kingdom; Pharaoh Tuthmoses III marched as far south as the Fifth Cataract. But change is a question of time, and by the end of the New Kingdom, Kush began to rise.

Historians have universally agreed that King Alara unified Upper Nubia around 780 BC, declaring Napata (near Jabal Barrkal, Karima, North Sudan) the capital. The job was completed by his successor King Kashata when Lower Nubia joined the crown. Nubia had been united and Kashata claimed for himself the title Pharaoh. But that was not the end of it; following suit was Pharaoh Piye, better known in history as Pharaoh Piankhy, conqueror of Thebes and founder of Egypt’s 25th Dynasty, the dynasty of the Black Pharaohs.

Little is discussed about this ‘late’ period in ancient Egyptian history, probably because of the racial thing, but that’s only my guess. Mainstream archeologists won’t come out and say that specifically. But they do admit the intercession of the Nubian kings prevented the Assyrians and other outside invaders from taking the country over for one hundred years. And the Nubians went out of their way to honor the ancient traditions instead of wiping them out during their reign. It’s a shame they’re not recognised as they should be.

Clippings from around the ‘Tubes

From Boing Boing:

This week’s story on the science fiction podcast Escape Pod is “Edward Bear and the Very Long Walk,” a haunting Ken Scholes tale about an animatronic AI Winnie the Pooh toy aboard a doomed, pandemic-wracked survival ship, tasked with saving the human race.

“Do you know what’s happened to the children?” Edward swallowed. Suddenly, he wanted to cry. “Yes. They’re…sleeping?”

He hoped and hoped and hoped and hoped, grimacing as he did. He looked around.

Makeshift beds lined the room. Small hands gripped blankets, small eyes stared at the ceiling.

“No.” The boy frowned. “They’ve died.”

“Because of Something Very Bad?”

“Yes. And I need you to be a Very Brave Bear. Can you do that?”

I’m going to check this out tonight to see if it’s as good as Doctorow claims.

From Cosmos Magazine:

Canadian geologists have shed light on how a vast lake, trapped under the ice sheet that once smothered North America, drained into the sea – an event that cooled Earth’s climate for hundreds of years.

During the last ice age, the Laurentide Ice Sheet once covered most of Canada and parts of the northern United States with a frozen crust that in some places was three kilometres thick.

As the temperature gradually rose some 10,000 years ago, the ice receded, gouging out the hollows that would be called the Great Lakes. Beneath the ice’s thinning surface, an extraordinary mass of water built up – the glacial lake Agassiz-Ojibway, a body so vast that it covered parts of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, North Dakota, Ontario and Minnesota.

The description of this kind of flood isn’t exactly what the folks in the Judeo-Christian-Islamic tradition would call the Biblical Flood, but to the inhabitants of North America at the time, you would be hard pressed to convince them it was other than Apocalyptic.

Catastrophic ancient flood cooled the Earth

From Huliq.com:

The Saqqara Geophysical Survey Project may be on the verge of discovering the remains of Imhotep, the architect of the Step Pyramid.
Project Director Ian Mathieson said, ‘We’ve now found two large tombs where we think Imhotep could be. The largest tomb is around 90 metres long by 50 metres wide. The walls are more than five metres thick.‘The second tomb is next to it, and is about 70 metres long by 50 metres wide. It has a complicated internal structure which suggests a courtyard or temple.‘The tombs dwarf everything in the area. A person of Imhotep’s importance could have commanded the artisans and labour needed to build his own tomb on this kind of scale.‘All the information we have points to this being the most probable place he could be.’

Imhotep’s rep took a beating from the Mummy movies, but the fact of the matter is that he was one of the architects of the original pyramid projects of ancient Egypt, from which the Great Pyramid builders borrowed their designs from. Imhotep’s medical traditions are also presumed to be the basis for Greek physician Hippocrates’ treatises and Oath that’s used today.

From Inexplicata via The Anomalist:

Ana Luisa Cid has sent us this photo of a possible triangular UFO taken during the recent Lunar Eclipse.

Photo of eclipse and UFO

It’s a classic triangle UFO. It could be black-tech, since it’s in Mexico and not far from the South-western aircraft testing sites like Groom lake. Or it could be actual UFO phenomona. Remember the mass UFO sitings Mexico had during a solar eclipse in the 1990s? It seems the sightings occur during these events. I wonder what the significance of that is?
