With all the hub-bub about the Copenhagen Climate Conference going on, one thing has become crystal clear.
How come nobody has mentioned the military use of the climate as a weapon?
Hogwash you say?
Check this out:
The term “environmental modification techniques” refers to any technique for changing – through the deliberate manipulation of natural processes – the dynamics, composition or structure of the Earth, including its biota, lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere, or of outer space. (Convention on the Prohibition of Military or Any Other Hostile Use of Environmental Modification Techniques, United Nations, Geneva: 18 May 1977)
“Environmental warfare is defined as the intentional modification or manipulation of the natural ecology, such as climate and weather, earth systems such as the ionosphere, magnetosphere, tectonic plate system, and/or the triggering of seismic events (earthquakes) to cause intentional physical, economic, and psycho-social, and physical destruction to an intended target geophysical or population location, as part of strategic or tactical war.” (Eco News)
“[Weather modification] offers the war fighter a wide range of possible options to defeat or coerce an adversary… Weather modification will become a part of domestic and international security and could be done unilaterally… It could have offensive and defensive applications and even be used for deterrence purposes. The ability to generate precipitation, fog and storms on earth or to modify space weather… and the production of artificial weather all are a part of an integrated set of [military] technologies.” (US Air Force document AF 2025 Final Report)
World leaders are meeting in Copenhagen in December 2009 with a view to reaching an agreement on Global Warming. The debate on Climate Change focuses on the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions and measures to reduce manmade CO2 emissions under the Kyoto Protocol.
The underlying consensus is that greenhouse gas emissions constitute the sole cause of climate instability. Neither the governments nor the environmental action groups, have raised the issue of “weather warfare” or “environmental modification techniques (ENMOD).” for military use. Despite a vast body of scientific knowledge, the issue of climatic manipulations for military use has been excluded from the UN agenda on climate change.
John von Neumann noted at the height of the Cold War (1955), with tremendous foresight that:
“Intervention in atmospheric and climatic matters ….will unfold on a scale difficult to imagine at present… [T]his will merge each nation’s affairs with those of every other, more thoroughly than the threat of a nuclear or any other war would have done.” (Quoted in Spencer Weart, Environmental Warfare: Climate Modification Schemes, Global Research, December 5, 20090
In 1977, an international Convention was ratified by the UN General Assembly which banned “military or other hostile use of environmental modification techniques having widespread, long-lasting or severe effects.” (AP, 18 May 1977). Both the US and the Soviet Union were signatories to the Convention.
Guided by the interest of consolidating peace, … and of saving mankind from the danger of using new means of warfare, (…) Recognizing that military … use of such [environmental modification techniques] could have effects extremely harmful to human welfare, Desiring to prohibit effectively military … use of environmental modification techniques in order to eliminate the dangers to mankind. … and affirming their willingness to work towards the achievement of this objective, (…) Each State Party to this Convention undertakes not to engage in military … use of environmental modification techniques having widespread, long-lasting or severe effects as the means of destruction, damage or injury to any other State Party. (Convention on the Prohibition of Military or Any Other Hostile Use of Environmental Modification Techniques, United Nations, Geneva, May 18, 1977. Entered into force: 5 October 1978, see full text of Convention in Annex)
The Convention defined “‘environmental modification techniques’ as referring to any technique for changing–through the deliberate manipulation of natural processes–the dynamics, composition or structure of the earth, including its biota, lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere or of outer space.” (Environmental Modification Ban Faithfully Observed, States Parties Declare, UN Chronicle, July, 1984, Vol. 21, p. 27)
The substance of the 1977 Convention was reasserted in very general terms in the Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) signed at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro:
“States have… in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of international law, the (…) responsibility to ensure that activities within their jurisdiction or control do not cause damage to the environment of other States or of areas beyond the limits of national jurisdiction.” (UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, New York, 1992)
Following the 1992 Earth Summit, the issue of Climate Change for military use was never raised in subsequent climate change summits and venues under the auspices of the UNFCCC. The issue was erased, forgotten. It is not part of the debate on climate change.
In February 1998, however, the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Security and Defense Policy held public hearings in Brussels on the U.S based weather warfare facility developed under the HAARP program.
The Committee’s “Motion for Resolution” submitted to the European Parliament:
“Considers HAARP.[The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program based in Alaska].. by virtue of its far-reaching impact on the environment to be a global concern and calls for its legal, ecological and ethical implications to be examined by an international independent body…; [the Committee] regrets the repeated refusal of the United States Administration… to give evidence to the public hearing …into the environmental and public risks [of] the HAARP program.” (European Parliament, Committee on Foreign Affairs, Security and Defense Policy, Brussels, doc. no. A4-0005/99, 14 January 1999).
The Committee’s request to draw up a “Green Paper” on “the environmental impacts of military activities”, however, was casually dismissed on the grounds that the European Commission lacked the required jurisdiction to delve into “the links between environment and defense”. Brussels was anxious to avoid a showdown with Washington. (see European Report, 3 February 1999).
In 2007, The Daily Express reported –following the release and declassification of British government papers from the National Archives– that:
“The [declassified] documents reveal that both the US, which led the field, and the Soviet Union had secret military programmes with the goal of controlling the world’s climate. “By the year 2025 the United States will own the weather, ” one scientist is said to have boasted.
These claims are dismissed by sceptics as wild conspiracy theories and the stuff of James Bond movies but there is growing evidence that the boundaries between science fiction and fact are becoming increasingly blurred. The Americans now admit that they invested L12million over five years during the Vietnam war on “cloud seeding” – deliberately creating heavy rainfall to wash away enemy crops and destroy supply routes on the Ho Chi Minh trail, in an operation codenamed Project Popeye.
It is claimed that rainfall was increased by a third in targeted areas, making the weather-manipulation weapon a success. At the time, government officials said the region was prone to heavy rain. (Weather War?, Daily Express, July 16, 2007)
The possibility of climatic or environmental manipulations as part of a military agenda, while formally acknowledged by official government documents and the US military, has never been considered relevant to the Climate debate. Military analysts are mute on the subject. Meteorologists are not investigating the matter, and environmentalists are strung on global warming and the Kyoto protocol.
The HAARP Program
The High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) based in Gokona, Alaska, has been in existence since 1992. It is part of a new generation of sophisticated weaponry under the US Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). Operated by the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Space Vehicles Directorate, HAARP constitutes a system of powerful antennas capable of creating “controlled local modifications of the ionosphere” [upper layer of the atmosphere]:
HAARP has been presented to public opinion as a program of scientific and academic research. US military documents seem to suggest, however, that HAARP’s main objective is to “exploit the ionosphere for Department of Defense purposes.” (See Michel Chossudovsky, The Ultimate Weapon of Mass Destruction: “Owning the Weather” for Military Use, Global Research, September 27, 2004
Without explicitly referring to the HAARP program, a US Air Force study points to the use of “induced ionospheric modifications” as a means of altering weather patterns as well as disrupting enemy communications and radar. (Ibid)
HAARP also has the ability of triggering blackouts and disrupting the electricity power system of entire regions:
“Rosalie Bertell, president of the International Institute of Concern for Public Health, says HAARP operates as ‘a gigantic heater that can cause major disruptions in the ionosphere, creating not just holes, but long incisions in the protective layer that keeps deadly radiation from bombarding the planet’.
Physicist Dr Bernard Eastlund called it ‘the largest ionospheric heater ever built’. HAARP is presented by the US Air Force as a research programme, but military documents confirm its main objective is to ‘induce ionospheric modifications’ with a view to altering weather patterns and disrupting communications and radar.
According to a report by the Russian State Duma: ‘The US plans to carry out large-scale experiments under the HAARP programme [and] create weapons capable of breaking radio communication lines and equipment installed on spaceships and rockets, provoke serious accidents in electricity networks and in oil and gas pipelines, and have a negative impact on the mental health of entire regions.’
Weather manipulation is the pre-emptive weapon par excellence. It can be directed against enemy countries or ‘friendly nations’ without their knowledge, used to destabilise economies, ecosystems and agriculture. It can also trigger havoc in financial and commodity markets. The disruption in agriculture creates a greater dependency on food aid and imported grain staples from the US and other Western countries.” (Michel Chossudovsky, Weather Warfare: Beware the US military’s experiments with climatic warfare, The Ecologist, December 2007)
An analysis of statements emanating from the US Air Force points to the unthinkable: the covert manipulation of weather patterns, communications systems and electric power as a weapon of global warfare, enabling the US to disrupt and dominate entire regions of the World. According to an official US Air force report
“Weather-modification offers the war fighter a wide-range of possible options to defeat or coerce an adversary… In the United States, weather-modification will likely become a part of national security policy with both domestic and international applications. Our government will pursue such a policy, depending on its interests, at various levels.” (US Air Force, emphasis added. Air University of the US Air Force, AF 2025 Final Report, http://www.au.af.mil/au/2025/ emphasis added)
The manipulation of climate for military use is potentially a greater threat to humanity than CO2 emissions.
Why has it been excluded from the debate under COP15, when the UN 1977 Convention states quite explicitly that “military or any other hostile use of such techniques could have effects extremely harmful to human welfare”? (Convention on the Prohibition of Military or Any Other Hostile Use of Environmental Modification Techniques United Nations, Geneva, 1977)
Why the camouflage?
Why are environmental modification techniques (ENMOD) not being debated by the civil society and environmentalist organizations under the auspices of the Alternative Forum KlimaForum09?
Government denial about the military uses of HAARP have been ongoing for decades, although it has been admitted publically it was originally designed for submarine communications.
But in this era of advanced communication satellites, one wonders if this is a credible reason in this day and age.
There are a limited amount of people in the world who understand high altitude atmospheric studies enough to give any layman’s explanation of irradiating the ionosphere to the point where physical effects can be noted all over the world and claim them innocous.
And a lot of those folks are in the military, or contracted by them.
Michio Kaku is considered a radical among his mainstream peers. He has written several books that are at the ‘fringe’ of physics; “Physics of the Impossible“, “Parallel Worlds” and “Hyperspace” are, but a few of his publications that explore extreme science.
Starting today, Dr. Kaku starts a new television show on the Science Channel called “Sci-Fi Science: Physics of the Impossible” in which he discusses subjects that would’ve been considered “tinfoil hat” a decade ago:
Explore the world of the seemingly impossible with the all-new series SCI FI SCIENCE. Hosted by internationally-renowned physicist and co-founder of string field theory, Dr. Michio Kaku, this series poses the idea that science fiction may not be so far from science fact. Examine topics that currently seem so far out… of the realm of possibility, such as invisibility cloaks, teleportation, time travel and more.
Is he a self promoter? Sure. He has to be in order to get the general public interested in science. Especially hard to understand esoteric physics.
UFO ‘disclosure’ from the US government has been a long sought after endeavor by the likes of Steven Greer, Alfred Webre and Michael Salla for decades. Recently, disclosure was supposed to happen around Thanksgiving.
But of course, it never happened.
Fortean/symbologist Christopher Knowles has a take on ‘disclosure’ that is finding more fans among the more serious students on the UFO subject; ‘ultra’ or as Mac Tonnies observed, ‘crypto-terrestrials’:
Well, another ‘disclosure event’ has come and gone. I haven’t really been keeping track of how many there have been, but it seems as long as I’ve been paying attention to the UFO phenomena people have been making remarkable predictions of upcoming disclosures that have yet to come to pass. I do remember that expectation was running very high in the mid-90s, and UFOs were everywhere in the media, but…nothing. I wasn’t plugged into the pre-Internet UFO community per se, but I know there were a number of predictions (made by people like Jeanne Dixon and Phyllis Schlemmer) that some kind of massive UFO landing was due in the late 70s and nothing came of that either, obviously.
Anyone who approaches the UFO phenomena with an open mind comes to realize that whatever it is, it’s a much deeper, much, much older and much more prevalent reality than what the mainstream media- at least in certain western nations- would ever have us believe. It’s only natural then to assume that people in government are aware of it, have access to greater knowledge about it than you or I, and are intentionally keeping it all from us. But there’s also the possibility that the government knows about the phenomenon but also knows there’s nothing it can do about it, which some of the evidence speaks to as well. And governments generally don’t like to admit their impotence in the face of a superior power.
If these UFOs and aliens aren’t simply some kind of perpetual human delusion (which I’m not necessarily discounting), than I’ve personally never seen any evidence to dissuade me from the ‘ultraterrestrial hypothesis’- that we’re dealing with some kind of parallel reality to our own. Those massive interstellar distances might not be daunting in sci-fi but are quite a bit more so in sci-fact. The sheer scale of sightings and the millennia over which they’ve taken place tends to mitigate against ETs jetting back and forth from Sirius or the Pleiades, at least in my opinion. Which by default bolsters the UT hypothesis, if one is so inclined.
I’m partial to the Igigi theory myself, since all of the sightings and anecdotes we’ve heard strike me as some kind of monitoring/surveillance. Abductions/contact/experience reports speak less to the old “take me to your leader” trope one might expect of extrasolar visitors, and more a kind of “let’s keep an eye on the Project” kind of behavior you’d expect of some stay-behind monitors. It sounds cold, but it all strikes me as the kind of contact that human scientists have with fauna in the wild, more than any kind of preparation for a massive landing at the UN.
I’ve studied the UFO phenomenon on and off for over thirty years and have often wondered why the ‘aliens’ are almost always ‘humanoid’ in structure, especially when current theories of exo-biology claims since intelligence is an ‘accident’, other intelligent creatures in the Universe would just as soon look like vacuum cleaners?
Like everyone else, I just have an opinion and chances are, we’ll never know the complete truth.
As the discovery of the number of planets outside of our little Solar System increases (the count is now 400), the possibility of discovering earth-type planets (or moons) increases also.
There’s a theory that 10% of the estimated total of earth-type planets in the whole galaxy could approximately be at least 10 Billion . And of them, 10% could harbor intelligent entities (see Drake Equation calculator).
The implications for the world’s religious communities would be manifold to be sure and there could possibly be chaos, destruction and various social mayhem.
Now the Vatican, the center of the Western Catholic religion, is taking some preemptive action by acknowledging the possibility of discovering intelligent beings on exoplanets:
For centuries, theologians have argued over what the existence of life elsewhere in the universe would mean for the Church: at least since Giordano Bruno, an Italian monk, was put to death by the Inquisition in 1600 for claiming that other worlds exist.
Among other things, extremely alien-looking aliens would be hard to fit with the idea that God “made man in his own image”.
Furthermore, Jesus Christ’s role as saviour would be confused: would other worlds have their own, tentacled Christ-figures, or would Earth’s Christ be universal?
However, just as the Church eventually made accommodations after Copernicus and Galileo showed that the Earth was not the centre of the universe, and when it belatedly accepted the truth of Darwin’s theory of evolution, Catholic leaders say that alien life can be aligned with the Bible’s teachings.
Father Jose Funes, a Jesuit astronomer at the Vatican Observatory and one of the organisers of the conference, said: “As a multiplicity of creatures exists on Earth, so there could be other beings, also intelligent, created by God.
“This does not conflict with our faith, because we cannot put limits on the creative freedom of God.”
Not everyone agrees. Paul Davies, a theoretical physicist and author of The Goldilocks Enigma, told The Washington Post that the threat to Christianity is “being downplayed” by Church leaders. He said: “I think the discovery of a second genesis would be of enormous spiritual significance.
“The real threat would come from the discovery of extraterrestrial intelligence, because if there are beings elsewhere in the universe, then Christians, they’re in this horrible bind.
“They believe that God became incarnate in the form of Jesus Christ in order to save humankind, not dolphins or chimpanzees or little green men on other planets.”
The Academy conference will include presentations from scientists – by no means all of them Christians – on the discovery of planets outside our solar system, the geological record of early life on Earth, how life might have started on Earth, and whether “alien” life of a different biochemistry to our own might exist here without our knowing, among many other things.
There has been many rumors in the past the Catholic Church has already been privy to the knowledge of intelligent ETs and have been part of a cover-up to keep a lid on things until the world is ready for such information.
These rumors could be just so much tinfoil, but what if it is true?
It would give much credence to the extraterrestrial theory of UFOs, cattle mutilations and abduction of people against their will.
Although I’m not going to hold my breath any time soon about ‘disclosure’.
Who needs the Constellation Program when we already possess the technology to go to Mars and build underground cities and bases there?
According to Andrew D. Basiago, we (meaning the US) have jump-gate and time travel capability that was stolen from Nicola Tesla before he died in 1946.
Interesting interview on Red Ice Creations.
The military implications of UFO activity has silently been a concern to the national security alphabet soup agencies and the military for over 60 some-odd years, although publicly denied.
Now there is going to be a college lecture on the subject in Wilmington, North Carolina:
At a nuclear missile launch site in North Dakota, a guard spots a mysterious bright light hovering over the location of each rocket silo.
Below ground, officers on duty notice their missiles start to activate one by one.
In the launch capsule, an officer orders emergency procedures when he sees every bomb targeted by the intruder prepare to fire.
UFO researcher Robert Hastings has recorded this and other testimony from retired U.S. military personnel who worked at nuclear facilities over the past four decades. He says there’s a pattern of UFOs targeting nuclear launch sites not just in the United States, but around the world.
“One might interpret that as these beings attempting to send a warning to us humans that we are playing with fire,” Hastings said. “Alternatively, it could be that these beings are planning to invade Earth and don’t want to inhabit a radioactive wasteland.”
A retired laboratory analyst and lifelong UFO investigator, Hastings will give a free lecture and slideshow in the Burney Center at the University of North Carolina Wilmington at 7 p.m. today Hastings says his findings confirm beyond a reasonable doubt the existence of UFOs and their concern to top-level military and intelligence officials.
“I’m trying to get this message out to the public to let people know that this is not science fiction, this is not Hollywood, this is not the funny pages – this is absolutely real,” Hastings said.
In more than 30 years of research on UFO sightings, Hastings has collected testimony from 120 veterans, and reviewed thousands of de-classified Air Force, FBI and CIA documents. He has appeared on CNN’s Larry King Live, spoken at more than 500 colleges and published a book on his findings last year. His presentation at UNCW is part of the campus’ ACE Voice program, a series of speakers invited to bring fresh perspectives to campus.
Decades of research was kindled by a mysterious sighting one night during Hastings’ high school job as a janitor at an Air Force base in Montana in 1967. As Hastings cleaned the radar room, an officer on duty told him they were monitoring UFOs in the area, and showed him five hovering objects on the radar screen. Within minutes, the officer grew tense and ordered Hastings out of the room. Later, the officer refused to discuss what had happened. With that, a lifelong quest was born.
Hastings’ focus is on collecting firsthand accounts from military veterans of UFO sightings and activity during their service time. He conducts careful research to confirm each source’s background, and corroborates each account with other eyewitness descriptions and de-classified government documents.
Hastings believes the government’s knowledge of UFOs is kept quiet out of fear of public panic if the information was released.
Over the years, Hastings says he has seen half a dozen UFOs with his own eyes, including a set of bright lights hovering over radio and TV towers in Albequerque that covered eight miles in three seconds. Though Hastings emphasizes that he is only speculating, he believes that at least one race of alien visitors has been monitoring Earth for a long time.
“I think we’re slowly as a race being acquainted with their reality and presence here, and at some point they’re going to leave no doubt in anyone’s mind that that’s what’s going on,” Hastings said.
Hastings has also been on the Paracast about this subject too.
My belief is that the military doesn’t do anything because it can’t do anything about it!
As the time ticks down to the end of one of America’s most reviled regimes, (Carter’s Administration is thrown in with this bunch, but I can’t see why when compared to Bu$hco’s) , the US is ready to inaugurate its first African-American President, a true novelty given the nation’s history, but probably inevitable none-the-less.
History is my profession (more like a hobby) by training, so I’m interested in the symbolism that pervades the incoming Obama Administration and how it might relate to future of the US.
Symbolism? What? How could the future President Obama be related to esoteric symbolism in any way, much less the relationship thereof?
According to Chris Knowles of The Secret Sun , Obama’s “election” might actually have been preordained as a reincarnation of the “Osiris Cult” and is full of Masonic “Phoenix Rising” symbolism.
Crazy? Maybe. Knowles isn’t the only one to point out the obvious. Check this out at Red Ice Creations. Change? The Velvet Glove instead of The Mailed Fist maybe.
Not to mention the Inauguration is taking place after The Martyred Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s nationally recognised birthday. Osiris/Christ Resurrection and Phoenix Rising symbolism here folks? Sweet syncronicity!
Even if one doesn’t believe in esoteric relationships, syncronicity and symbolism, it doesn’t matter one bit if you’re just one of the masses.
Because the people who are actually pulling the strings of finance, politics, religious institutions and yes, science, surely do!
I heard something on the radio this morning that made me smile and shake my head in a “no screaming eagle-shit” kind of way.
News wonks on NPR were talking about the “similarities” between Barack Obamanator and Gee Duhhbya Bu$hco when it comes to “protecting” the Amerikan sheeple, especially when it comes to “Homeland” Security. It seems that since Mr. Obama’s been selected…er…elected, he’s changed his tune on various topics, like closing Gitmo.
The reason of the backtracking about Gitmo is that most of the people being held are finally going to get some kind of court hearing, be it military tribunal or regular trial. Although they might get their day in court, they are still “very dangerous people” who have to be kept away from the US public, and thus Gitmo isn’t going to be shut down anytime soon.
Another way in which Obama doesn’t differ much from his predecessor is the current genocide against the Palestinian people and his ominous silence concerning it.
Let’s face facts here, the Zionist Israelis are doing government sanctioned ethnic cleansing while the world just turns their back on a helpless, defenseless people. The US government has made it clear that “we” (The very word makes me want to gag, puke and wash my mouth out with bleach) back the Zionist government of Israel without reservation. And that in my view, makes us complicit in committing war crimes.
But of course, the history of the Middle East since the 1920s (and the whole history of the US) is written in the blood of the innocent, so we are kind of numb to the travail of others.
The Zionists of both countries must be licking their chops over those offshore gas fields of Gaza right at this moment also.
Not to speak of the reduction of US troops in Iraq down to the 70,000 – 75,000 level to hole up in the $790 billion fortress in order to open up another front in Pakistan and to strengthen troop levels in Afghanistan in order to finally get that oil/gas pipeline built in order to undermine Russia’s energy/economic influence in the area.
Perception is everything and it’s important to the US government’s puppet masters that the propaganda keeps coming hard and heavy in order to keep the sheeple sleepy. Unfortunately, most of the sheeple enjoy their somnolence and distractions, with no desire to be awakened.
So what do we do?
Keep putting the message out there until it is altogether outlawed. There’ll always be people who want to discover what is happening in the world around them like there’ll always be folk who don’t.
If we force the issue on a public who doesn’t want it, we are no better than the elites who want to force their own vision of the world upon us.
And that’ll give us the moral high-ground.
As this year is getting under way, national and world news offers little in change, yet.
This past Friday (1/2), Wall Street wonks give a positive, though cautious analysis about the new year’s stock markets around the world, giving a boost to Asian and Eurozone exchanges this morning; (Asia)http://www.cnbc.com/id/19832390/ , (Eurozone)http://www.cnbc.com/id/19794221/ .
I’m not buying into this meme, due to the fact that in alot of states, state governments are levying more taxes and cutting services to low, middle income folks and not raising taxes on the rich folk. According to New York State governor, David Paterson, raising taxes on the rich is “unpalatable” and to be used as a last resort; http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/21/nyregion/21millionaire.html.
Leona Helmsley would approve.
On the world front, Zionist Israel is continuing its pogrom on the Palestinians, killing hundreds of civilians in order to get at Hamas “terrorists”; http://www.wsws.org/articles/2009/jan2009/gaza-j05.shtml .
World opinion is against Israel, of course, and using civilians as human shields is a shitty way for Hamas to get their message across. And of course, the Israeli government is backed wholeheartedly by Bu$hco, who is raking up mega-monopoly-money via the military-industrial-congressional complex from the slaughter not only in Gaza, but world-wide.
So what’s with a little exit plan profit taking?
The incoming Obama administration’s meme of spreading fiat currency around the country for infrastructure, school and green tech is hitting rough ground as some in Congress say that there’s not enough time to get an economic plan together by the Inauguration, but by the middle of February instead; http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/05/us/politics/05spend.html?bl&ex=1231304400&en=99a6130dae16eb41&ei=5087%0A .
There’s plenty more news I can comment on, but I still want the focus to remain on science and science-fiction in this ezine.
Have a good week folks and remember to convert to gold!
As 2008 comes to a close and it seems like the world is crashing down around our ears (egged on by the mainstream-corpo media of course, at least here in ‘Amurrika’ anyway), one must learn to keep things in perspective.
Whether one believes in a world-wide conspiracy or not, the world needs thinking people now more than ever; folks who question the status quo and find the courage to study and scrutinize situations that seem illogical and out of place.
We Americans have bred an entire generation of young people, who were born during St. Ronnie Raygun’s “Morning In America” and coming of age in the twilight of Bu$hco II’s “Ownership Society”, deny the existence of the real world in all its ugliness and beauty and take anything the corporate controlled media pipe into their heads at face value.
Thus as a result, we have the most brain-washed and and uninquisitive generation of young people ever spawned; lacking any propensity or interest for scientific study at all.
Global studies are worst yet, most kids in school today can’t find Iran or Iraq on a world map if their lives depended on it (most American adults can neither, for that measure) and could care less!
I can provide stats and links to prove this hypothesis of course, but I won’t waste my time doing that; I’m ranting and blowing off steam and I trust my audience is intelligent enough to use the GooglePlex to find all the proof they need.
So how do we Americans fix this?
Well, Mr. Obama has promised to finance states in need of science and math teachers, mainly career changers:(http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20081229/ts_csm/abeaker).
I’ve considered this myself, if for no other reason than to work off my student loans I’m already enslaved to. And blue collar factory work is a fast dying way of life here in Amurrika, it’s only a matter of time before the owners of the company where I work closes its doors and ships out to China or an East European country anyways, so why not try out something different?
Unfortunately, most of these grants, scholarships and loan reductions depend on what I call an “enlistment” (usually three years) to teach in a “high needs” area, where the schools are generally under-funded and dangerous to begin with, where normal folks wouldn’t go into even armed with assault weapons!
Oh well, it all goes along with the scheduled teardown and rebuilding of our society (the worlds’ also) into a more structured, fascistic/socialist/corporate entity in which the population can be controlled more easily, i.e., to further usher in the Panopticon Singularity IMHO.
I wonder if they’ll monitor what kind of science I might teach these “high needs” kids?
Do you think I’d be able to “enlighten” them?
The economy remains much in the news this past week as the Big Three automakers are still holding their collective hands out to the US government for some Monopoly money. As of this writing, the White House is granting them a $17.4 billion bail-out from the TARP Fund.
God forbid the CEOs running these dinosaurs are going to go without their golden parachutes at Christmas time, eh?
That won’t do, that wouldn’t be the American Way, would it?
In science news, scientists discover that Mars has mineral evidence of a past water environment; http://www.reuters.com/article/scienceNews/idUSTRE4BH7IV20081218 and could Mr. Obama’s Green Agenda be already starting?; http://blogs.reuters.com/environment/2008/12/18/green-jobs-really-on-the-way-new-us-solar-plants-announced-this-week/.
As always, Jeff Renses’ site has a take on the Zionist/NWO agenda; http://revisionistreview.blogspot.com/2008/12/talmud-stock-market-and-bernie-goniff.html , http://www.rense.com/general84/d22er.htm and my pal gfish at Weird Things writes about NASA, bureaucracy and why US space exploration will likely languish during the Obama Administration; http://worldofweirdthings.com/2008/12/18/nasa-vs-the-bureaucrats/#comments.
Again, an early post, no ‘Tubes connection yet except for work or library. If anyone wishes to write me, use my GooglePlex account, email@example.com or leave something here. I will try to respond in an appropriate time during the week, Monday through Friday. No weekends until I get reconnected.
Have a good week and Yule folks!
